This illustration depicts the zodiac sign of Pisces. According to astrology, the main qualities associated with Pisces are dreaminess, emotionality, and imagination. Pisces individuals are primarily inward-facing, and it is said that they often become distracted and dreamy. The astrological symbol shows two fishes captured by a string, typically portrayed swimming in opposite directions, representing the constant division of Pisces’ attention between fantasy and reality.

This is a personal work for a series named “Celestial Letters”, inspired by zodiac signs, based on the “Illustration of the Copernican system”, by Andreas Cellarius, 1661. As with the previous ones, I imagined it as a book cover, although it may fit in many different commercial applications.

The image was created using traditional media – watercolor and colored pencil – and later edited in Photoshop for final use.
